I\u2019m looking to find social media gurus who are navigating the world of \u201cvice\u201d commodities such as Alcohol, Cigars (not cigarettes), Cannabis related products or news, etc. What are you doing to have effective strategies that drive conversion and reinforce support from stakeholders when you have to also post content within the community guidelines?<\/p>

I find that many of the proposed social strategies that exist in the mainstream are not spaces that those types of\u00a0industries can really leverage. For example, we cannot\u00a0advertise in most cases. Everything must be done organically. Social shopping is out of the question. Limiting Page visibility to 21 and up means that links to your platforms may show a broken link until the user logs into their account.\u00a0Showing the product or using it can result in flagged or removed content. Community violations can wind up appearing arbitrary with little to no communication. Why did this post get taken down when there are 10 exactly like it? Is it the copy? Is it the graphic? did someone report it?<\/p>
My company has taken some extensive (arguably over-corrective)\u00a0measures to exist within the social space beyond just ethical practice guidelines.<\/p>

Hello everyone! I wanted to get a quick gut check on sharing UGC Reels. It\u2019s probably no surprise that most of the UGC Reels I find are also ones that use well known, trending music. I\u2019ve searched high and low but cannot find any information online about resharing these and what the protocol is. What\u2019s your process? Reshare? Share only to IG Stories? Pass on by? I\u2019m social media manager at a large tech company (~700 people)\u00a0and I\u2019ll get social post requests from people in different departments all throughout the company on a consistent basis. So far, I\u2019ve been trying to organize those on a monthly basis with shared Google sheets then adding them to Sprout.<\/p>

I\u2019m wondering if anyone here has been able to find a way to establish a formalized process for gathering these requests\/suggestions and fitting them into your social strategy while balancing not always posting everything everyone suggests if it\u2019s not the right\u00a0fit for your company\u2019s social?\u00a0<\/p>

Have you tried using Trello<\/a>? At ICG we use the free version. When you get a request in, pop it into a card, give it an anticipated publication date and that\u2019ll help you to assess and progress each content idea. Takes a couple of minutes at most.<\/p>
We are a team of two and as well as looking after external digital content and communications inc websites, social, email, etc we also handle internal comms for which we have an internal social network (Spark, based on FirstUp<\/a>).<\/p>
We find that a large percentage of requests for a communication are actually targeting colleagues rather than external stakeholders. Having an internal social network has really helped us ensure that our external communications is focused.\u00a0<\/p>
We moved away from web forms for requests as we found that only certain types of people in certain teams used them -- IT, Facilities, Compliance, Legal. The core of our business is made up of investment teams, a marketing and client relations team and we also have a thriving set of employee-led networks. Most people want to email, Teams us or pop over and chat. Having Trello let us focus the admin on tech at our end, rather than putting up a barrier for our employees.<\/p>
One other thing that\u2019s helped is that we have a business partnering lite system in our overall corporate affairs (communications) team. Someone in our team speaks regularly to each investment team to coordinate potential communications\u00a0applicable to all channels -- not just, say, media relations or digital. Having a channel-agnostic view is essential these days.<\/p>

Looking to get some industry insight from our invaluable Sprout Social Community for a Sprout customer. This customer works in the news\/media space and has seen their journalist's Twitter followers decline in the last couple of months. We attribute some of this to Twitter\u00a0bot clean up, but they are also curious if other news\/media customers have seen something similar.\u00a0They are also seeing a decline in potential Twitter impressions and are\u00a0curious what other people in their space are experiencing.<\/p>
As a result of all of this, they are also looking for any tips specific to the news and media industry for growing followings on Instagram or Facebook - which, they say, has historically been difficult. Has anyone had issues lately with Facebook posts failing through Sprout? We mass-publish content to various FB pages, and only a few posts successfully publish. We\u2019ve been working with the Support team, but every potential solution they\u2019ve offered hasn\u2019t worked. The only similarity I\u2019ve noticed from the posts that publish successfully is that they\u2019re still the Classic FB page experience. The posts that fail are part of the New FB page experience. We\u2019re having major issues connecting to our clients\u2019 business managers this past month. I\u2019m not sure what the issue is, but we cannot get a couple of accounts to connect after going through all the steps we normally go through. AND when we tried a workaround so that I could connect my account directly instead of our manager account, I didn\u2019t come up as someone who he could connect to neither with my name or email. For my clients I normally schedule content on Facebook about a 1 - 1.5 weeks in advance and with the scheduled posts instead of boosting them I turn them into ads since we are trying to get engagement & eyeballs on my client\u2019s Facebook page. Last week I tried using my scheduled posts in business suite\u00a0as an \u201cExisting\u00a0Post\u201d option, but they wouldn\u2019t show up. I tried even using the Post ID given in business suite but it kept coming up as non-existent. I was able to speak on the phone with my marketing manager pro at Facebook, and they told me that they are no longer allowing you to use scheduled posts for an ad and that they have to be active on the page in order to be able to use them. Does anyone know when this was announced or when they made this change? Have you had a similar experience? I just feel like Facebook didn\u2019t give any sort of heads up about this change and it\u2019s making my job a little harder since I manage\u00a0about 5 different Facebook Pages who all run ads for every post. Ran into a super weird problem and wondering if it\u2019s happened to anyone else.<\/p>
Currently running a Facebook ad for a client. I went to check in this morning to see how it\u2019s performing and noticed that it\u2019s completely missing from the Campaign tab. After momentarily freaking out, I check the Ad Sets tab and my audience is still there - I check the Ads tab and both of my ad creatives are still there as well. Additionally, I filtered ad performance to yesterday and today and the ad is still active and delivering. When I inspect the ad, I can still see the campaign level, and then my ad sets\/ads beneath it.<\/p>
It seems like somehow only the campaign portion of the ad completely disappeared from the campaign tab. Has this happened to anyone else? I\u2019ve reached out to Facebook support but to the surprise of literally nobody they gave me information that wasn\u2019t relevant or what I was asking at all and then acted like they solved the issue and ended the chat.<\/p>
To potentially paint a better picture - I have one ad currently running. The Campaigns tab on Ad Manager doesn\u2019t show this ad as existing at all, while both the Ad Sets and Ads tabs show the ad info like normal. Facebook randomly unpublished our Business page and suspended our ad account over the weekend for \u201ccontinued Community Standards violations.\u201d The thing is, we have never gotten a notice or review of any violations, and our Page Quality says \u201cGood News, no violations to show.\u201d We are a fintech\/insurance broker, so our content is nothing particularly controversial either.<\/p>
It is adversely affecting advertising, as they won\u2019t run ads without the page being republished. I have reached out to support through the Business Center via chat and phone and have been stuck in a \u201cwe\u2019ll investigate\u201d status for 3+ days.<\/p>
Has anyone experienced this? Why was your page affected? Hi Sprout Agency Partners! I\u2019m currently working alongside an agency navigating a bizarre Instagram Server Error. Has anyone successfully navigated or resolved Instagram Profile Errors like this?<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
When publishing to Instagram, this profile will have multiple failed posts. Sometimes the post error will respond as a media code error meaning that the media is the wrong specs. But, when we run this through other environments, the media publishes fine and follows all of the spec guides from Sprout and Meta<\/li>\t
Sometimes Meta flags profiles and posts as spam posts, which Sprout recommends adjusting publishing times when posting. The agency has done this and is still experiencing the same barriers.<\/li>\t
This is one of those scenarios where Sprout is limited on what we can mitigate as a third party and Meta is blaming the use of third-party publishing for the error on their end.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>

Hi everyone!

I\u2019ve been managing the social accounts of different brands for the last decade, and I\u2019m coming across a situation I\u2019ve never encountered before.

TL;DR: our company was merged with another, completely changing our product roadmap, much to the disdain of current users (who the product is no longer geared towards). It has resulted in quite the backlash onto our social channels. Every post is met with comments about how awful our product is, how we don\u2019t listen to the customer base, etc.

I\u2019ve been managing the social accounts of different brands for the last decade, and I\u2019m coming across a situation I\u2019ve never encountered before.

TL;DR: our company was merged with another, completely changing our product roadmap, much to the disdain of current users (who the product is no longer geared towards). If so, what recommendations do you have for permissions?\u00a0 I was thinking I would set him up in Sprout but would give him \u2018needs approval\u2019 access for the Instagram account.\u00a0 That way I don\u2019t share the password, and he still gets access to post, and I get to see it first before it\u2019s LIVE.\u00a0 Any suggestions?
